Relates to superannuation, an employee's entitlement to optional employer superannuation contributions. Vesting is usually expressed on a scale, for example, for each year of service employees are entitled to a further 20% of optional employer contributions. This means that after five years of service an employee is entitled to 100% of these contributions if they leave the employer.
