Malaysia
Standard Financial Planner (SFP) is a full service financial planning group in Malaysia co-founded by CEO Alfred Sek in 1999. SFP is the largest independent financial advisory (IFA) Group in Malaysia, based on the most licensed Investment Advisory Representatives (IARs).
In 2006, SFP took advantage of an international opportunity and joined forces with Professional Investment Services through an equity partnership arrangement. By learning from the experience and success of Professional Investment Services as well as leveraging off the opportunities a global group can provide, SFP is now setting unprecedented benchmarks within the Malaysian financial planning industry.
As of 2009, SFP has over 350 planners throughout Malaysia. These numbers are expected to increase as other advisers and firms are attracted to the PIS/SFP model.
SFP is regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia and Malaysia's Companies Commission and Securities Commission.
