IN THE BEGINNING
It all started with motocross bikes when Matt was 3. Matt began racing a Honda 50cc in local club events when he was 7 and I finally came to quads at the age of 16 - his first one was a Suzuki 250 quad racer and has had more than 20 different ones since then. They just seem to keep breaking for some reason!
TAKING ON THE WORLD
Matt clinched the Australian Quad Racing Championship title in 1987 and decided to travel to America. He competed in the US Quad Championships but unfortunately, with 4 rounds to go, Matt did his kneecap in.
THE FIRST ONE
One of the most important points in Matt's stunt career happened there while he was racing at the Ahoy Indoor Stadium in Rotterdam. Matt finished 3rd but after the event they asked him to try a jump of 7 cars. Matt said "Yeah mate, I'll give it a crack" and it worked so he hasn't looked down since! Seven doesn't seem very many now but he must have been crazy then.
